In recent times a rise in the incidence of Infectious has been observed in many parts of the world. The pathogens have become resilient, drugs with multi variant mechanisms are being designed to counter act these diseases. There is a crisis of global proportion which threatens life expectancy and health. According to the WHO nearly 13million people die of infectious disease each year .

What is an Infection? How is it caused?
An infection may be caused by a pathogen which may invade the host and multiply while taking up the nutrients from the host. The pathogen may be Bacteria, Virus, Fungi, Protozoa, multicellular parasite or self replicating protein known as prions. Innately inherent microbes cannot be considered as infectious agents.

The mode of transmission might be due to contact (physical contact, airborne inhalation) with an infected individual or secretion (sputum or other bodily fluids). Transmission can also occur by means of a vector (insects). Pneumonia, Tuberculosis, Diarrhoeal diseases, Malaria, Measles & more recently HIV/AIDS have been listed as mostly deadly infectious diseases. Although many epi-economic models have investigated the spread and transmission of infectious disease many aspects of it are still unclear.

We at Aaranya Biosciences Private Limited provide agent based models to develop feasible solutions to study infectious disease transmission. Most importantly we aim to establish means to device control measures for future outbreaks.
